Appletree Allotment & Community Garden
WHAT WE DO
Here at Appletree our ethos is simple: to foster and grow the health and wellbeing of the garden and community.
Make friends, share your skills, learn new ones, and contribute your own ideas. That’s how Appletree works.
We encourage suggestions for how we might develop, and we want you to have a direct say in what goes on and to help play an important role in making it happen. We’re a place where everyone can find their niche, and work as part of a friendly and inspiring team dedicated to personal, social and environmental improvement.
We’re an inclusive space, and that means our garden is carefully designed to be accessible for all. Our garden is suitable for those with unique needs relating to sight-loss or dementia, our paths are pushchair and wheelchair friendly, and our raised beds offer easy-access gardening for those who are elderly or disabled.
We want everyone to enjoy their time at Appletree.
The best way to find out what we’re currently up to is to come down and pay us a visit! There will always be someone on hand to make you a brew and show you around. So come and say hello and enjoy a chat among friendly faces.
We’re open to anyone who is happy to contribute just a bit of their time to be a part of the garden. And you don’t have to dig! Each and every activity contributes to transforming Appletree into a more sustainable, vibrant and special place. So whether you drop by to read in the sunshine, enjoy a picnic with the kids, watch the birds and other wildlife, or help to pot, plant and harvest, it all counts, it all matters.
